Empowering Beginnings: The Inspiring Story of Mommylicious Dance

In the bustling heart of Vienna, Austria, a unique and empowering journey began—a journey that would later come to be known as Mommylicious Dance Studio. This is the story of how a mother’s postpartum depression  experience led to the creation of a community that celebrates motherhood, dance, and the indomitable spirit of women.

The Birth of an Idea

The story of Mommylicious Dance Studio traces its roots back to the founder, Ludi Mones, and her profound postpartum experience. After the arrival of her first child, Ludi grappled with the challenges of postpartum depression, compounded by the anxiety induced by the pandemic. Seeking solace and healing, Ludi turned to her Cuban heritage, where dance is not just a form of expression but a way of life.

Dance as Therapy

Originating from the vibrant culture of Cuba, where rhythm is an inherent part of life, Ludi’s journey led her to rediscover the profound therapeutic essence of dance. She embarked on a deeply personal voyage of healing, dancing with her baby snugly nestled in a carrier. It was within the cadence of these rhythmic movements that Ludi experienced a remarkable transformation in her mental well-being. Dance became her therapeutic refuge—a lifeline to emotional recovery.

Ludi is not only a passionate advocate for dance therapy but also a certified Hatha Yoga Teacher and an accomplished Dance and Zumba Instructor. Her extensive training has taken her to diverse corners of the world, from the heart of Cuba to the tranquil landscapes of Indonesia, the vibrant rhythms of Spain, and the serene retreats of Thailand. This multifaceted background infuses her classes with a rich tapestry of techniques and cultural influences, creating a truly unique and enriching experience for her students.

Building a Community

Ludi’s dance sessions in local parks soon attracted other mothers who sought solace and connection amidst the challenges of motherhood. What began as an individual healing process evolved into a vibrant community of mothers and their children. Together, they danced through life’s ups and downs, creating lasting bonds and memories.
